Hey Parrot Heads!

Here's a great chance to help "Cleeeeeeean the Beaches," as you solemnly swore while holding a melting Margarita and wearing a white lei...remember?

"Parrot Head Island," aka Edwards Island, was our adopted island when the county had an Adopt a Beach program running. But just because the program ended, doesn't mean the beach is cleeeeeean! In fact it might really need us, now that there aren't any Parrot Heads regularly cleeeeeaning it.

We'll meet between 9am and 10am on Saturday, Oct. 7th, at Nora Patterson Bayfront Park (Take Siesta Drive toward the island, and the park is on the left after you go over the bridge) and cleeeeean up there while we wait for our ride to the island. Our own Captain Larry Beggs will have a boat to transport passengers from there. Everyone bring something to toast Larry with!

Afterward, we're going to have a good old fashioned cookout with burgers, hot dogs, and chips. Please feel free to also bring something to share. Also, bring what you want to drink, and of course a chair to sit in. Don't forget bug spray and sunscreen!

Our Environmental Chaire Extraordinaire, Shelby Davis, will have bags, gloves, and grabbers. If you have any questions about this or other projects in the works, please reach out to her at shelbydavis60@gmail.com.

PLEASE make sure to register so we have enough food and know how many people will need transporting.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

Set-up - Prep Cooks - Burger Chefs - Servers - Cleanup -

BOAT CAPTAINS!! If you have a boat that you can use to help out for beach cleanups and parties, please drop an email to the Woman to Blame, at sbphc.prez@gmail.com, or the Hula Girl, sbphc.secretary@gmail.com.

Thanks and FINS UP!
